Lumohs Green Commitment & Loader Recycling Program
At Lumohs, good design considers what happens after the procedure, not just during it. We build precision instruments that support clean clinical work while keeping environmental impact low. We believe professional care and responsible materials belong together.
Our Green Commitment
Lumohs single-use handles and Touchless Loaders are molded from recycled polypropylene plastic, which reduces our reliance on new virgin resin. Choosing recycled material is one of the ways we try to make a precision tool you can feel good about using every day. Because every Lumohs Loader is touchless, an empty loader never contacts skin, blood, or body fluids. The empty loader is simply clean plastic, and it is recyclable wherever your local program accepts #5 (PP).
There is nothing to ship back to us and nothing to store. You recycle the empty loader right in your own practice, the same way you would any other clean plastic.
How to Recycle Your Empty Loaders
After You've Used All 5 Blade Cartridges
Place in Facility's Recycling
Place empty loaders (make sure no blade cartridges remaining in loaders) in your facility’s recycling and wherever your local program accepts #5 (PP). If you are not sure your program takes this resin, check with your local recycler.
Why It Matters
Using recycled material and recycling the empty loaders keeps usable plastic in circulation and reduces demand for new virgin resin. It also signals to your clients and your peers that your practice takes responsible clinical operations seriously, without adding a step to your day. Recycling your empty loaders keeps good material in use and out of the landfill wherever your program accepts it.
Benefits of Participating
Keeps medical-grade plastics out of landfills and reduces virgin material use.
Demonstrates your commitment to sustainability and responsible clinical operations.
Unlike most other single-use instruments, ours are molded from recycled polypropylene and we shrink the footprint before it reaches your tray.
Responsible materials going in, a recyclable material coming out.
Why We Built this Program
Single-use instruments are the right choice for safety and sterility, and that is not something we want to compromise. What we can do is lower the impact at the source. By molding our handles and loaders from recycled polypropylene instead of new virgin plastic, we shrink the footprint from the very first gram, before the tool ever reaches your tray. Then we make it easy to recycle the empty loader at the end. It is a simple idea: responsible materials going in, a recyclable material coming out, and no extra step in your day.
A Note From Our Founder
As a practicing dermatologist, I see how much plastic a busy clinic moves through in a single week. Single-use tools keep patients safe, so they are not going away, and they should not. But I did not want to accept the waste as just the cost of doing things right. That is why every Lumohs handle and loader is molded from recycled material, and why we built a recycling path that any practice can follow without changing how it works. This is the kind of company I wanted to build: precise where it counts, and honest about the rest.
